Our Locations

UpMove serves Ottawa, Gatineau, and surrounding cities.

UpMove is a local moving company rooted in the Ottawa–Gatineau region. We serve the full Quebec Outaouais — Gatineau, Aylmer, Hull, Buckingham, Masson-Angers — as well as Ottawa's Ontario neighbourhoods: Orléans, Barrhaven, Kanata, Stittsville, Carp, and many surrounding communities. Whether you're moving a few blocks or crossing the Ottawa River, our crew knows every corner of the territory they serve.

Our edge is local expertise. We know the specific challenges of each neighbourhood: parking permit requirements in Old Hull, elevator booking windows in Orléans condo towers, narrower rural routes toward Carp or Cantley, and peak-hour bottlenecks on the Champlain or Alexandra bridges. That on-the-ground knowledge means we plan every move with precision and eliminate unwelcome surprises.

What makes each area unique for your move

Moving in Gatineau means navigating a network of bridges that concentrate traffic at peak hours — Macdonald-Cartier, Portage, Champlain, Alexandra. Our crews plan routes around traffic windows to cross at the best time and avoid costly delays. On the Ottawa side, neighbourhoods like ByWard Market or the Glebe often have parking restrictions that only movers experienced in the area know how to anticipate.

Rural communities like Carp, Cantley, or Kazabazua require a different kind of preparation: gravel access roads, longer driveways, and in winter, paths that can be icy and treacherous. To the east, Orléans and Masson-Angers are fast-growing residential areas where new construction and recent high-rises come with their own protocols. At UpMove, we adapt our approach to each area's reality — that's what sets us apart.

Frequently asked questions about our moving areas

Do you move between Ottawa and Gatineau?

Yes, this is one of our most popular services. We regularly handle cross-provincial moves between Ontario and Quebec — families relocating to Gatineau for real estate prices, professionals crossing to Ottawa for work, or students switching sides of the river. Our team knows the bridges, required permits, and the best time windows to cross without stress.

Can you move to smaller communities like Carp or Aylmer?

Absolutely. We serve both rural and semi-rural areas throughout the region. Carp, Constance Bay, Cantley, Aylmer, Chelsea, L'Ange-Gardien — our trucks head there regularly. We adapt our equipment for access conditions: narrow laneways, gravel driveways, or properties without a loading dock are no obstacle for us.

Is there an extra charge for cross-provincial moves (ON ↔ QC)?

No. At UpMove, cross-provincial moves between Ontario and Quebec are handled as standard local moves — no border surcharge. Pricing depends on volume, distance, and time required, just like any other move in the region. You will receive a clear, transparent quote before confirming.

How far in advance should I book during peak moving season?

Peak moving season in the Ottawa–Gatineau region runs from mid-May to late August, with a particular spike around July 1st. During that window, we recommend booking at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance to secure crew and truck availability. Outside of peak season, one to two weeks' notice is generally enough, and we can sometimes accommodate last-minute requests.

Do you handle apartment moves in high-rise condo buildings?

Yes, and it's one of our specialties. We regularly work in condo towers across Gatineau and Ottawa — whether that means booking the service elevator, protecting hallways and wall corners, or respecting time windows set by building management. We recommend confirming your elevator reservation window with your building manager before our arrival so everything runs smoothly.
